Safety and support limits
Shy Guru can support you, but it cannot replace urgent help
Shy Guru Companion is designed to help with social moments, overthinking, messages, calls and small practical steps. It is not a therapist, doctor, emergency service or crisis service.
If you are in immediate danger
Do not wait for Shy Guru. Call emergency services now, go to A&E, or move near someone who can help you stay safe.
999
Where to get help now
Use these options if things feel unsafe, urgent or too much to manage alone.
Immediate danger
Call 999 now if someone is at immediate risk, seriously injured, in danger, or there may be a life-threatening emergency.
Urgent mental health help
Contact NHS 111 if you need urgent mental health help but it is not a life-threatening emergency.
Someone to talk to
Call Samaritans free on 116 123 if you need to talk to someone. They are available day and night.
Practical support for social moments
Shy Guru helps with everyday moments that can feel overwhelming, especially when you need words, structure or a small next step.
Help writing messages, emails, call scripts, boundary lines and explanations.
Separating facts, fears and missing information when your mind starts looping.
Small, realistic actions that do not force you into a huge leap.
Important boundaries
These limits exist so users are not misled when they need professional or urgent support.
No diagnosis
Shy Guru does not diagnose social anxiety, autism, ADHD, depression, trauma or any medical condition.
No medical treatment
Shy Guru does not prescribe, recommend medication, give treatment plans or replace advice from a qualified professional.
No crisis monitoring
Shy Guru cannot monitor you, contact emergency services for you, or keep you safe in a crisis.
When to pause and get outside help
Move near another person if you can, put distance between yourself and anything dangerous, and contact emergency or crisis support now.
Avoid confrontation if it could make things less safe. Contact emergency services, a trusted person or a specialist support organisation.
Shy Guru can help you prepare wording, questions or notes, but important decisions should be checked with the right professional or official service.
Your support should stay under your control
Shy Guru should clearly explain what is stored, what is sent to the AI provider, and how users can delete chat history, saved scripts and memory.
Use Shy Guru for support, scripts and small steps
For immediate danger, crisis, medical emergencies or professional advice, use the right support service first.
